I find it difficult to classify my work as a whole. Today it could be watercolor or pen and ink – tomorrow, fine art photography and digital painting – the next day, a random combination of both. So in leaving the door open for whatever interpretation may apply at any given time in the future, let’s just call it simple adventures in imagery, as presented from the unique perspective of a common rural American hillbilly with creative inclinations.
I cannot boast an impressive education in the arts, only an inborn passion to explore and create and experiment, and an overwhelming appreciation and appetite for the arts as a whole. Professionally, I have worked as a graphic designer and artist with a career spanning a total of over 25 years in advertising, marketing, publishing and printing. Personally, my greatest love is in all forms of imagery, with a strong leaning toward subjects of nature and the outdoors, and the simplicity of everyday country living.
I seek to connect with views emotionally through visual imagery, employing skillful techniques that merge traditional photography, design and composition, and a widely varied mixture of natural media, with the infinite possibilities afforded through modern digital imagery and digital painting. My work employs experiments with technique and creative interactions of the old with the new in an exciting adventure of exploration and discovery. I am artist. Watch me grow.
